True to tradition, Southampton Magna held its annual charity wine tasting in November.

“Wine”?   Yes, certainly with blind tasting competitions and wine description challenges. but also very good food tasting to compliment the wines.   Jackie Hearn, a very knowledgeable Manager of the Hiltingbury Branch of Threshers, enthralled the 120 or so guests with colourful descriptions of the characteristics of the wines of the evening.  The evening was continued with an auction and a Bingo session.   Bingo at a wine tasting?  Magna will do anything to raise money!   The guests were entertained by a highly amusing session led by that well known raconteur John Lambourn.  Most importantly of all, £1750 was raised for the purchase of Rotary Shelter Boxes.
