Despite the grid locked roads delaying the start, a full house of 112 diners sat down at 8.00pm to a meal of Melon& Prawns, Lemon & Pepper Pork Loin, Profiteroles, Cheese, Coffee & Mints. The winning description of wine No.3 can not be published but the description awarded third place hints at the reason. "An insolent wine that is cheeky for all the wrong reasons. The left armpit has a hint of sandalwood, the right thigh a hint of opium seed. Its split personality causes it to be 'in your face', which is better than in your mouth. Not to be returned to without caution".
President Chris Tickner & Guests at the start of proceedings.
After Dinner Speaker Adger Brown entertained and auctioned items totaling £350. The whole evening resulted in £1400 being sent to the Mercy Ships project. |
