Polio Plus Immunisation


During the course of a year in the Southampton Magna Rotary Club, a number of activities are similar to previous years and can be listed as overseas aid projects, UK and local aid projects, social events and regular club meetings

Typical UK and local aid projects:-

Support for Leukaemia Busters 

Support for The Society of St . James 

Sponsorship of the CD’s “Coping with Life” distributed to schools in Southampton. 

Financial Assistance to an aspiring young actor . 

Holiday provision to a needy family 

Christmas hampers to disadvantaged families in Southampton 

Support to local causes such as Wessex Heartbeat, Rose Road, Avenue Centre & the Honeypot Charity 

Provision of prizes for Southampton in Bloom

Kids Out

To raise funds for these projects the Club organises

A ProAM Golf Competition at Stoneham

A Classic Car Run in the New Forest

A Car Wash at Sainsbury Hedge End

A Christmas Tin Shake in Southampton Precinct

Typical overseas aid projects

Polio Eradication (Polio Plus)

Water Projects 

Jaipur Limb Project 

Overseas Eye Camps 

Vision Aid Overseas 

Aquaboxes 

Christmas shoeboxes for the children of Kosovo, Montenegro & Albania 

Provision of school desks and other materials for a school in Gambia 

Financial support to overseas orphanages through Hope and Homes 

 

To raise funds for these projects the Club organises:

A Wine Tasting Evening

An Antiques Evening

And Members Donations

 

Youth Activities

Magna supports the Rotaract Club of Southampton. 

Takes part in Youth Exchanges and the programmes of the Rotary Foundation. 

Helps with the Youth Speaks Competition 

Awards Prizes for Achievements   

Participates in 'Kids Out' 

Officers 2007-08
