Naomi House is a purpose built children's hospice, which opened in 1997 to provide palliative care for children who will die before they reach adulthood.  In addition, last year a £12million appeal was launched to build a second hospice to care for young people over the age of 18 with severe life-limiting illnesses.  Naomi House offers one-to-one care and attention to families across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight and bordering counties.  No charge is made and Naomi House continues to rely on voluntary contributions to cover the bulk of its running costs, which currently stand at £2.5 million per year.   With the help of valued supporters they can continue working with families who so desperately need them.

The Southampton Youth Orchestra, formed over 40 years ago, has gained a reputation as one of the country's finest youth orchestras.  With about 80 young people aged between 15 and 18 playing regularly, SYO performs several public concerts each year.  They have performed at the Royal Albert Hall and the Royal Festival Hall as well as locally in Hampshire.  In 2006 they travelled to Poland and, in 2007, to the island of Ischia to play at the estate of Lady Walton.  This summer they will visit Vienna.

This concert is the last for those who are leaving the Orchestra this year.
