Report

This year's Run was in aid of the Countryside Education Trust at Beaulieu. The event was well supported with 74 entrants and on the day 63 cars made it to the start.  The weather was very kind with warm sunshine almost all day.  The stewards (Magna members) coped very well with the smallish car park at the new start location; good humour prevailed, helped by the bacon butties and coffee put on by the Pub.  Although one or two got lost on the first section from Sway to the charity, where again the cars were all squeezed in, everyone was able to view the working environment of the Farm and try and work out the answers to the first part of the quiz.  At lunch there were no reports of anyone getting lost, there was plenty of parking and room to picnic in the sunshine, then later try and complete the quiz before leaving for the afternoon run.  This led to the home of a Magna member and his wife who had very kindly agreed to open their garden and paddock for us and our cars.   Magna Ladies provided tea and cakes once again for which we thank them wholeheartedly.    Then came the prizegiving and the run home.

The event raised £3,144 - £2,500 for CET and the balance for other Rotary charities.  Our thanks go to all who took part  and contributed to the day, especially all those stewards!

Next year
The date has been fixed for next year's Run which will NOT be on the same weekend as the Auto Jumble!  It will be on the 13th May 2012, the week before the Jumble.  The brochure with full details and the entry form, both in PDF format, will be available here in the autumn.   The main mailshot will be emailed and posted in mid-March.
